Newer Artist première + Q+A (Dawn of Man)

Saturday 2 October 2021

6-8pm (BST)

Première of a new film devised and created by Sanctuary Newer Artist Theo Seddon, followed by a Q+A with the artists involved.

Sanctuary's Newer Artists Development Programme is for LGBTQIA+ identifying live performance makers of many disciplines. The programme is designed for newer artists to grow their artistry, develop their practice, benefit from one-to-one bespoke mentorship and develop new performances... aiming to facilitate small-scale, tour ready productions.

Dawn of Man is a trans man’s coming of age story that focusses on how we learn to become the men we are. The performance highlights the perspectives of trans men, finding alternative dominant male role models, and aims to cultivate communities of empathetic and kind men, who are gorgeous.

Huge thanks to Platform Easterhouse for all their support in the making of this film.
